In such a large organization, with so many people and different departments and so many projects happening simultaneously, the Innovation Committee was worried about how to manage or if they needed to manage all innovation initiatives into the institution.
The requirement to create an Innovation Governance Process at RNP came to us, at RNP's Process and Risk Management, which I was a part of as a Design Thinking Project Analyst.
My role in this project was coordinating the research to understand how this process should be. Of course I had a great colaboration from my collegues, Denise, a process analyst and Felipe, an innovation analyst, they were the best support on the interviews.
But from the start I highlighted the need to put the user at the center, to understand what people, who are the ones who make innovation happen, think about it.
We then carried out quantitative research using forms, we carried out around 40 interviews with people from the most varied areas, managers and teams, with the goal to obtain the most multidisciplinary views possible.
With all this input collected, we processed the data in excel spreadsheets and went to Miro to also create Empathy Maps and, in the end, we generated predominant profiles.
As a result of this qualitative and quantitative analysis on the Governance of Innovation at RNP and on what people in the organization think about the need to have a process for this, we obtained clear guidelines for making decisions based on the behavior and pain of the public of interest.
This was the last project I took part in at RNP before going to the next challenge at CAIXA, so I didn't participate in the following steps, that involve the collaborative creation of an initial Governance Process Model, which will be a framework to give support to people and help to make Innovation to happen in practice.
